Retirement Living Group is a holding company formed in 1997 to put a single identity on several Utah assisted living and retirement communities. Retirement Living Group is a privately-held family company.

In 1975 Gary Taylor leased a building in downtown Salt Lake City and began offering senior housing and care services to the elderly. For the next 15 years, this facility was the only location operated by the company. The lease on this building ran out in 2003, and the facility subsequently closed.

In 1990 the company purchased Heritage Place at 1150 South Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. Heritage Place was expanded shortly after purchase and again in 2000 and now has 121 licensed assisted living suites and 27 unlicensed apartments.

Golden Living Center was brought into the company in 1992. Golden Living Center is located at 2011 West 4700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. This location was expanded in 1996 and now has 110 assisted living suites.

Le Chateau at Brickyard Plaza was purchased in 1996. This is a 109 apartment complex located at 3080 South 1300 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. This property has remained an independent living community offering residents help with meals, housekeeping, and activities. In 2007 this community was completely renovated and upgraded to a Hall of Fame Living™ member.

In 1997, Lakeside Retirement Village was purchased. Lakeside Village is a 144 apartment complex at 1580 West 3940 South, West Valley City, Utah. This apartment complex focuses on serving seniors in the western part of the Salt Lake Valley.

Golden Living Orem was added to the group in 1999. Golden Living Orem has two buildings offering assisted living for a combined total of 61 suites and a separate building with 5 apartments. Golden Living Orem is located at 960 South Geneva Road, Orem, Utah.
